Carolina Adventures Part 2

Weekends are so great. Although, why did society design weekends to be SO incredibly SHORT?!
I don't know how you are but when the weekend comes around I feel like we (Jake and I) try to get literally THE MOST out of it!

With Jake being on the road throughout the week, I feel like we have to catch up on all the FUN stuff we could do during the week. Thus leading to fun filled weekends! I think the thing I "Google" the most is: Free things to do in __________" <<Fill in the blank with whatever city we are in!

Well, besides the Greek Festival (mentioned previously in the post below) and Hiking>> Two weeks ago went went to Greenville, South Carolina!

I think there are probably a billion amazing things to do in Greenville but we only were able to explore the area for a few hours!

First Greenville Exploring Tip:

Go to  Staxs Omega for breakfast... I literally promise you.. you will NOT regret it! Prices are reasonable and the food was GREAT! Plus the atmosphere was adorable. It makes you feel like you are on vacation (even if you aren't)
    Highly Recommended.

Is there a mall?
Yes. There is a super cute mall in Greenville! Two floors and TONS of stores! Haywood Mall is defiantly
a great place to shop!
    >>Stop at "Nina's" in the mall for some adorable Spartina449 gear-- aka purses, clutches etc! <3

We came across a cute little (I mean little) Oktober Fest! Now, I am SURE that Greenville goes all out for other festivals but this Oktober Fest was fairly small and low key!

Myself and Jake at The Blue Ridge Brewery.

With there only being one/two small food vendors and one beer truck, we were forced to explore the city a little! There were adorable shops and restaurants around every corner and I can only imagine that we could have spent days exploring this city. I am already excited to go back and wander around the city some more!

One thing we did NOT get a chance to do, which was the one thing EVERYONE suggests is go to Greenville's Falls Park
    >>Check the website out: Falls Park <<
The photos are amazing! I am kind of upset we didn't get to go!

It is only Wednesday
BUT
do you know what your doing this weekend?!

PS- if you are from or have traveled anywhere around South Carolina and have any travel tips/cool places you would recommend- PLEASE comment and let me know!!

Carolina Adventures

Endless possibilities. +Steeliebros FlyCO
Fly Fishing - Broad River, Columbia- South Carolina

Well, I have been trying to get all creative and fancy for my blog but I have not been in the super creative state. SO I thought I would simply share some photos from the last 3 weekends.

Sometimes you just have to go explore to find something that fulfills your soul.

Columbia, South Carolina
    >> Greek Festival
http://columbiasgreekfestival.com/

The Greek Festival was worth going to! If you are bored on sometime between September 18th- 21st, this is something I recommend you go to! The food was great (if you leave with out eating any desserts....shame on you ;)
   >>Tip: Get the dessert that looks like a bunch of shredded wheat...OMG it was amazing. Hence the photo.

It is a family fun event and they have plenty of adorable little vendors and you can actually tour the beautiful Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church. Hand painted and gorgeous sanctuary will captivate you. Church Tours

If you are around Columbia/ The Midlands of South Carolina, stopping in at one of the many forests around the area would be a great idea! Many of the forests in Columbia have paved trails (So it is easy for strollers and kids!) Most of them are near water as well, so they make for some adorable photos OR some great fishing! [The photo at the top of the page is a great example!]

Three Favorite places (so far):
  1. Harbison State Forest
          Harbison State Forest Website
         {Tip: When you go to visit...make sure you are out on time! They will lock you in}
$$ Entrance Fee: $5 per day or $25 for a year parking pass!

  2. Saluda Shoals
           Saluda Shoals Park Website
This park is GREAT for anyone! Paved walking trails, a splash pad that is amazing for kids and it runs right next to the Saluda River!
   $$ Entrance Fee:  $5 for a day!

   3. Random Pull off spot!
This spot is kind of super random! It is on Broad River Road! It is right after a BIG bridge. It is hard to explain-- if you need better directions, Email me!! Coachjessmirek@Gmail.com
Regardless, this (I think meets with Columbia's River walk) and there are great paved trails and river access throughout the path!!

Uploading MORE exciting adventures later this week!! I hope you enjoyed the photos.

Remember: Get out, explore a little. At the end of the day- you TV didn't grow a pair of legs and leave your house. Spend time learning more about yourself and the world you live it!
