You are the best

How have I not posted since the beginning of the year?
I wanted to update my page and give some advice... That I need to take myself//

It is strange to be given an opportunity to alter your life for better. Sometimes we are stuck in societal realms that create chaos and negative mental clutter in our minds. It can slow us down, break our spirits, ruin relationships, cloud our minds and effect our judgement. Speaking from minimal experience but through observation of those around me in some worlds, I can see how negativity can impact your life.

Whether you are in a relationship; friendship or commitment based.
At a job. Or in your own skin.

Negativity can defeat you, if you let it.

Some problems we face as a society (in my mind) are the constant comparison of ourselves to those we feel are on our level. Yet we are in a constant battle to become less like US and more like them in hopes of accomplishing something that they have. This (I feel) plagues the minds of our youth and the women of our nation. You may not agree, but I bet that your friend, family member or coworker, in someway feels inadequate or less than.

There is an entire WORLD for us. There is no one like us.. like you.
No one can make others smile, like you can. No one to make goofy comments.

No one can be you, better than you can.

If you or someone you know, feels pressured by the world to be someone that they aren't. If you compare yourself to others... daily, then here are things that I have done and will continue to do in order to find myself in a place of peace and joy. Knowing that I am great, powerful and unique in a way that doesn't need to be changed.

- Look inward. There is nothing in this world that is as powerful as someone who believes in who they are...fully. Without hesitation. What makes you happy? What makes you feel rested, relaxed and loved? >> If you don't know... Then go exploring.

- Read.
  >> Have a book in your purse or car for those moments when you feel tested, pressured or inadequate...simply read a little.
{A few I recommend: anything from the Joe Osteen library, A Million Litte Ways or the classic: The Bible}
Or Listen; listen to some podcasts! They are short and you can find one to match whatever you may struggle with!

- Your surroundings. I have noticed that, what those around you say can some how seep into your brain and pollute it like a drug. There is nothing worse than being surrounded by people who talk about nothing positive. They always are complaining, gossiping and complaining some more.
This can be more damaging than you imagine. You may start to believe what they say, you may start to add to the gossip or the negativity and that alone will bring you down. So again, get that tiny book that is hiding in your purse or hop on pinterest and look at positive quotes, scripture, and passages with in your book.

_________________________
At the end of the day, take a look at the situation you find yourself in. It if causes you stress, worry and creates a hateful/spiteful heart... turn around and run away. There is no one or nothing that is worth losing your sanity over. There is no job in the world that is truely worth it, if you become someone who is bitter. There is no room in the world for another broken, beaten down person. You have to look within, realize that you are the best at being YOU. If you compare yourself to others... don't. If you get upset, stressed or worried... just focus on finding something more positive in life.

Find friends that lift you up, a business that you can pour your own spunk into. Build your own dreams! Find someone, something that inspires and changes you

New Year!

The New YEAR is basically here.. which is crazy. Getting ready for the New Year is exciting. It is basically one BIG Monday. You get to make the new year your b!tch. Plan what you want to do. Set your goals and devise a plan. Some things are hard to obtain but if you actually set your sights on BIG things, you can achieve great things. I suppose I am writing this list for not only my readers but for myself. Let's face it, sometimes we have BIG plans and goals but HOW do we actually start or continue on our plan for success?!

  • Set obtainable goals. Figure out the things you want to accomplish within shorter time frames.
  • Reward yourself and don't be to hard on yourself. <- This is sometimes hard. As a entrepreneur, it is hard to reward yourself when you are always trying to be the BEST of the best. Just believe in the gifts you have and you will be able to live each day happily.
  • "To do" list. Literally, the most basic thing you can think to do is something that will probably help you the most. If you have several things you HAVE to accomplish, whether it is within a week, month or just within the day, make a list. Make it specific. If you have to clean>>write exactly
  • Find a friend!! (Not saying you don't have friends because you probably do! Lol!) But find a friend that will keep you in line. If you are trying to lose weight but all of your friends LOVE eating pizza and cake... you will never be able to lose the weight you want to lose. So surround yourself with people who inspire you to be better!
  • Get a good book & a planner. Spending just a little bit of time, each day, learning and focusing on new information to help yourself and your life will increase productivity. The reason that business owners who are successful and infectious with positivity is because they are contently learning. They don't stop learning and progressing after they leave college. Hence, go to amazon and search for personal development books! YAY!
  • Don't be an idiot. Don't give up, you are able to do anything you want to do. Even if you can't accomplish EVERYTHING you want to in one day, just do your best and you will be FINE.
  • Celebrate yourself!
  • Celebrate others! If you notice someone is sticking to their goals/plans<- Congratulate them! It is tough to maintain a NEW habit (until it becomes a habit!)

Cheers to the upcoming New Year. I hope it is filled with everything you every wanted and I hope that all the goals you set out to accomplish... you do accomplish!!

Carolina Adventures Part 2

Weekends are so great. Although, why did society design weekends to be SO incredibly SHORT?!
I don't know how you are but when the weekend comes around I feel like we (Jake and I) try to get literally THE MOST out of it!

With Jake being on the road throughout the week, I feel like we have to catch up on all the FUN stuff we could do during the week. Thus leading to fun filled weekends! I think the thing I "Google" the most is: Free things to do in __________" <<Fill in the blank with whatever city we are in!

Well, besides the Greek Festival (mentioned previously in the post below) and Hiking>> Two weeks ago went went to Greenville, South Carolina!

I think there are probably a billion amazing things to do in Greenville but we only were able to explore the area for a few hours!

First Greenville Exploring Tip:

Go to  Staxs Omega for breakfast... I literally promise you.. you will NOT regret it! Prices are reasonable and the food was GREAT! Plus the atmosphere was adorable. It makes you feel like you are on vacation (even if you aren't)
    Highly Recommended.

Is there a mall?
Yes. There is a super cute mall in Greenville! Two floors and TONS of stores! Haywood Mall is defiantly
a great place to shop!
    >>Stop at "Nina's" in the mall for some adorable Spartina449 gear-- aka purses, clutches etc! <3

                         -  -  -  -  -  -  -  -  -  -  -  -  -  - Later in the day  -  -  -  -  -  -  -  -  -  -  -

We came across a cute little (I mean little) Oktober Fest! Now, I am SURE that Greenville goes all out for other festivals but this Oktober Fest was fairly small and low key!

Myself and Jake at The Blue Ridge Brewery.

With there only being one/two small food vendors and one beer truck, we were forced to explore the city a little! There were adorable shops and restaurants around every corner and I can only imagine that we could have spent days exploring this city. I am already excited to go back and wander around the city some more!

One thing we did NOT get a chance to do, which was the one thing EVERYONE suggests is go to Greenville's Falls Park
    >>Check the website out: Falls Park <<
The photos are amazing! I am kind of upset we didn't get to go!

It is only Wednesday
BUT
do you know what your doing this weekend?!

PS- if you are from or have traveled anywhere around South Carolina and have any travel tips/cool places you would recommend- PLEASE comment and let me know!!

Carolina Adventures

Endless possibilities. +Steeliebros FlyCO
Fly Fishing - Broad River, Columbia- South Carolina

Well, I have been trying to get all creative and fancy for my blog but I have not been in the super creative state. SO I thought I would simply share some photos from the last 3 weekends.

Sometimes you just have to go explore to find something that fulfills your soul.

Columbia, South Carolina
    >> Greek Festival
http://columbiasgreekfestival.com/

The Greek Festival was worth going to! If you are bored on sometime between September 18th- 21st, this is something I recommend you go to! The food was great (if you leave with out eating any desserts....shame on you ;)
   >>Tip: Get the dessert that looks like a bunch of shredded wheat...OMG it was amazing. Hence the photo.

It is a family fun event and they have plenty of adorable little vendors and you can actually tour the beautiful Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church. Hand painted and gorgeous sanctuary will captivate you. Church Tours

If you are around Columbia/ The Midlands of South Carolina, stopping in at one of the many forests around the area would be a great idea! Many of the forests in Columbia have paved trails (So it is easy for strollers and kids!) Most of them are near water as well, so they make for some adorable photos OR some great fishing! [The photo at the top of the page is a great example!]

Three Favorite places (so far):
  1. Harbison State Forest
          Harbison State Forest Website
         {Tip: When you go to visit...make sure you are out on time! They will lock you in}
$$ Entrance Fee: $5 per day or $25 for a year parking pass!

  2. Saluda Shoals
           Saluda Shoals Park Website
This park is GREAT for anyone! Paved walking trails, a splash pad that is amazing for kids and it runs right next to the Saluda River!
   $$ Entrance Fee:  $5 for a day!

   3. Random Pull off spot!
This spot is kind of super random! It is on Broad River Road! It is right after a BIG bridge. It is hard to explain-- if you need better directions, Email me!! Coachjessmirek@Gmail.com
Regardless, this (I think meets with Columbia's River walk) and there are great paved trails and river access throughout the path!!

Uploading MORE exciting adventures later this week!! I hope you enjoyed the photos.

Remember: Get out, explore a little. At the end of the day- you TV didn't grow a pair of legs and leave your house. Spend time learning more about yourself and the world you live it!

As college freshmen or college graduate, we all have the same beautiful privilege of collecting wonderful student loans. So when we finally graduate, receive a job (that might not even be in the field you are interested in) we can start to pay off our hefty bills. Imagine there being a alternative universe where you would be able to build the life you only dreamed of, while becoming apart of something that makes you and those around you happier, better and stronger. With that being said I want to share a plan/goal of mine publicly. I hope that it may inspire you to think about your future, think about your dreams and begin to create a life that excites you.

They say that if you publicly announce a goal, then it makes it more "real" so here is my goal:

It is crazzyyyy to me (and I have had some people actually laugh at my goal) but that is okay. I was given the opportunity to become a Beachbody coach in 2012. I graduated with my Bachelors degree in May 2013. Leaving college with $15,000+ in student loans and a peace of mind that I don't have to feel suffocated with the pressure of enormous amounts of debt because of the choice I made during the busiest time in my life (school full time and work part time).

When you can build something that is fundamentally created on helping others succeed in their fitness, health and financial goals- you aren't working, instead you are living and better yet, enjoying life.  Beachbody coaching has blessed me with the ability to work from home and still pay all of my bills. I am looking forward to starting a 9-5 job and having the ability to start paying off all of my student loan debt with JUST my Beachbody paychecks.

There are opportunities all around us and if we open our eyes and our hearts to certain opportunities, they can change the entire construction of our life. You just have to be open to the idea that you don't HAVE to be a slave to your debt and you have all of the power in the world to begin creating a life that you are proud of.

Let me ask some weird questions:

If you were offered a job, helping people become happier during your free time, would you consider?

If you had the ability to pursue your dreams of vacationing in Thailand or Paris, would you?

If you were able to make a difference in someone's life by simply encouraging them, would you?

If you could create a life where you can stay at home with your children, would you?

If you could be debt free with no restrictions in two years [or less], would you want that?

If you answered YES to any of these questions-
please continue reading!

When I really THINK about my future, the idea of having debt hang over my head for the rest of my life, isn't something that I want. I would like to invite you to a free, no pressure informational group/call that starts this monday.

 We will talk about:
  • What coaching is
  • How coaching works
  • How to earn money
  • How to make a difference in the lives of others
  • How to get started

  • I didn't have to walk to work.
  • At least I only have to work ___ hours today.
  • Oh! When I finally do go home, I have 32 episodes of Parks and Rec to watch #score

  • I have all of my teeth
  • Wine is good for your heart ;) therefor enjoying a glass is just like eating an apple ;)

  • I have the opportunity to make new (positive) friends
  • I control my life. What happens and what doesn't happen is up to me.
  • I love my life, even if, right now something is making me mad or sad.... I truly LOVE myself.
  • I have created the life I live. I have complete control. I have the power to change ANYTHING I want to change. I don't have to ask someone else. I can do it.
Yes, some of this thoughts are silly but I hope you now realize that even if you feel stuck... YOU have the power to change that.

Focus on the good instead of the bad. If you keep talking about the bad stuff... how do you think anything good will happen.

Dating a fly tyer ;)

I have been dating +Steeliebros FlyCO  {Jake} for a while....like a whilllleeeee. And although I love every single minute with him {{It is true, he rarely annoys me. #oddIknow }} There are a few things that I struggle with. Most....scratch that.. all of these "problems" stem from his hobby & business of tying flies for fly fishing! You can see what he does @ Www.SteelieBrosFlyCo.com
<< They are UH-MAZING. So check it out.

 Let us begin.

  1. The word Tyer... is very weird. I delayed posting this post because I don't want to embarrass myself. So if you are a pro- spelling bee champ, don't judge me. But seriously;  Tier or Tyer #TheStruggle
  2. Even though he ties flies, my fly box is rarely filled up. He always tells me to learn how to tie... but he is so much better at it than me..
Men who might be reading this: Best gift to give to your lady is a box FILLED with Flies. Especially if you are interested in her fishing with you. #Yourwelcome
  3. There are feathers.....EVERYWHERE. I sometimes feel like I am at a super cliche birthday party, where they get in a pillow fight and the pillows break and feathers go flying EVERYWHERE. Minus the fact that we never have pillow fights like a bunch of teenage girls. Instead, there are just fancy colored feathers lurking everywhere in the house.
           >>>See the photo above<<<
  4. The consent quizzing of flies. Which fly is which? [Most questions I some how still can't answer properly.. which is weird because I should know them!]
  5. There is the consent threat of HOOKS....everywhere. On the floor in the kitchen, somewhere in the living room... but mostly the dangers of walking barefoot in his office. It is like walking in a field with landmines everywhere. You are bound to step on one.... you just never know exactly when.
=>  It is the adult version of "The ground is covered in lava" <= haha
  6. Catching a fly out of the corner of your eye. Yes, most of them actually look like legit bugs. So seeing something like this in the dark or at a quick glance... is frightening...trust me.
  7. Vacuuming. It is a task. To say the least. There are materials everywhere on the floor (they fall to the ground by accident) but you have to pick them up. But those the materials you can't easily see you must also, then take your hand and try to make sure you aren't going to vacuum up a gigantic hook, any split shot or any weighted "eye."  #ItTakesForever
       >>>Oh, if you miss something on the ground and your vacuum finds it... I hope it doesn't break it. Lol

  8. This is probably the worst of all problems:

The moment when you pick up something and there is a small feather or a fuzzy that flies up into the air or that attaches it's self to the object you are picking up. The only probable thing I can ever think of it being is: It is a gigantic spider or a roach of some sort. Therefor my natural feminine reaction (for whatever dumb reason) is to jump or screech. It is precious.

Thank you for allowing me to vent about the goofiness of dating a fly tier/tyer ;)
